A LITTLE OF THIS…A LITTLE OF THAT

First, my apologies for not writing this for a while!  It’s amazing when the benefit auction season kicks you we just seem to get very, very busy!  Let me go back and update you on a few events.

The Minnesota State Auctioneers Association held their annual conference and show in Bloomington this year and a good time was had by all!  Being the 2007 champion, I was in charge of this year’s contest….in fact it was the 20th Annual Minnesota State Auctioneer Championship.  We had a great field on competitors and it was indeed a special night.  In fact for the first time ever, the contest was broadcast live on KDHL Radio out of Faribault, MN and was also broadcast on the World Wide Web!  Congratulations to our new champion, Jolene Jokela-Veo from Osage, MN!  She will go on to represent Minnesota at the International Auctioneer Championship this July in Nashville.

Immediately following the Minnesota gathering, I headed to Wisconsin Dells, WI for the Wisconsin Auctioneers Association annual conference and show.  It was another great time, with a lot of educational opportunities and a chance to socialize with fellow auctioneers.  I was presented with my championship ring for the Wisconsin State Auctioneer Championship that I won in August.  We were also fortunate to win first place in the “Auction Photo” category.  In fact, that is the picture you see here from a benefit auction we conducted for the Cannon Falls Rotary Gala.  Pictured are Bob and Peggy Louis….now don’t they look like they’re having a great time!

I’ve had the opportunity to speak to a couple of great groups again recently, the Stillwater Rotary along with the Hudson, WI Rotary.  Of course we ended my comments with a fun little auction.  I’d be happy to speak to any organization about the exciting auction industry!

We’ve been busy as ever with benefit auctions starting off 2008.  We’ve actually been in Stillwater, Milwaukee and the Twin Cities area and continue to book additional auctions for the upcoming year.  If your organization is thinking about Johnson Auctioneering please contact us ASAP as our calendar is filling up fast!

Our two sons currently serving in Iraq, Jesse and Bobby Johnson are both coming home on leave in the next week or so.  We can’t wait to see them!  Again, may God bless all of our troops serving their country!

We have a couple of very exciting things happening with Johnson Auctioneering, and I will fill you in on that news in the near future.

Happy Fundraising!
